Purpose, fulfillment, and freedom are waiting on the other side of fear. Preparing for the future is moving forward despite fear, but worrying about the future is immobilizing. Courage. Life without fear. Overcoming obstacles. These are the victories available when we set our minds on things above, remembering all things are possible in Christ. Made in the image of God, you were created to be bold, strong, courageous – fearless!

Key Verse: For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, do not fear; I will help you. Isaiah 41:13

  • Monday – After spending 400 years in slavery fearfully serving the cruel Egyptian taskmasters, God gave the Israelites a new command: fear and serve Him only. God knew that whatever we fear we end up serving. We cater to it and bow down to make it go away. Fear of the Lord brings alignment and freedom; all other fears bring confusion and dread. Do you find it easier to fear God or the circumstances? Ask God to give you a holy fear (reverence and awe) of Him.
    • Fear the Lord your God and serve Him only. Deuteronomy 6:13
  • Tuesday – As powerful waves crashed over their boat, the disciples had a real reason to be afraid. But, Jesus was with them upon the storm, and He is with you. What waves of fear are washing upon your boat of faith? Do you see the Storm Silencer with you?
    • The disciples went and woke Him saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Matthew 8:25-26
  • Wednesday – Jesus ignored what was said and seen with human eyes. Believing amid fear is a hard trial, but hope is found in the Restorer of all dead things who fills us with boldness and courage. Where do you need to ignore what others have said or what your eyes perceive and “just believe”?
    • Ignoring what they said, Jesus told the synagogue ruler, “Don’t be afraid; just believe.” Mark 5:36
  • Thursday – Faith doesn’t mean you won’t have fear, but it does determine what you do with the fear. Fear, left unchecked, flattens faith and tramples trust. Faith, on the other hand, smothers fear building confidence in God and His ability. He is the One who goes with you, fights against your enemy, and gives you the victory. Today, don’t panic. Instead, let this promise smother your fears.
    • Do not be fainthearted or afraid; do not be terrified or give way to panic before them. For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies and to give you victory. Deuteronomy 20:3-4
  • Friday – Fear is a natural response to unknown, undesirable, and uncontrollable circumstances, so what we do with it must be supernatural. When fear comes, we don’t have to invite it in and entertain it. Where are you inviting in and entertaining fear? As you go about your day, focus on God’s trustworthiness.
    • When I am afraid, I will trust in you. In God, whose word I praise. In God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mortal man do to me? Psalm 56:3-4
