It began in a mid-air battle to protect territory. Circling each other in a fight for dominance, one ascends higher in a daring attempt to gain the upper hand. Leveraging its position of perspective, this fierce eagle dives at speeds of 100 mph, pouncing and pulverizing its opponent. Much like the bald eagles, we too have a territory to defend. Though our battle looks different, we can learn from these mighty warriors of air: we must remain watchful, be keenly aware of predators, stand ready to defend our territory, able to fly above the battle for a heavenly perspective, and willingness to engage and re-engage the enemy. When we learn how to pray, we take that stand in the heavenly battlefield.

The value of persistent prayer is not that He will hear us, but that we finally hear Him. – William McGill
